A 13th Star Sign has been added to the Zodiac
According to astronomer Parke Kunkle, changes in the alignment of the Earth have altered the science behind our astrological signs. The addition of the 13th sign, called Ophiuchus, has caused a shift in the dates that the original star signs fall under. For example, I am now an Aquarius. Well fuck you Kunkle & your appropriately humorous name, I will forever be a Pisces Queen!
Here’s a line-up of the new star sign dates so y’all can check & see if you should rethink any future tattoo plans:
Capricorn: Jan. 20-Feb. 16
Aquarius: Feb. 16-March 11
Pisces: March 11-April 18
Aries: April 18-May 13
Taurus: May 13-June 21
Gemini: June 21-July 20
Cancer: July 20-Aug. 10
Leo: Aug. 10-Sept. 16
Virgo: Sept. 16-Oct. 30
Libra: Oct. 30-Nov. 23
Scorpio: Nov. 23-Nov. 29
Ophiuchus: Nov. 29-Dec. 17
Sagittarius: Dec. 17-Jan. 20Apparently people born on the switch dates are two signs!
Here’s a description of Ophiuchus so people born in the first half of December can start exclaiming, “Oh god, I’m being such an Ophiuchus today!”
In Greek mythology, Ophiuchus was Aesclepius, Master Architect, Healer, and God of Wisdom. He has always been a part of the zodiac belt, but until now was never included in the Western astrological breakdown. As the story goes, Aesclepius was a Greek God of medicine and, when trying to bring Orion the Hunter back to life, was taken down by Zeus and cast to the sky with the Greek name Ophiuchus.
edit: Thanks to jamiepiper for mentioning that this new set of star signs only applies to people born since 2009. I accept this change. I’m going to go have a good relieved cry & maybe write a poem about this experience. PISCES 4 LIFE!

~~I’m still and Aries but no longer on the cusp. So I’m just an Aries and no Taurus influence? Where’s the fun in that…
